Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), a subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), has been selected by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) equipment technical assistance to emergency responders throughout the United States. GP will utilize the Domestic Preparedness Equipment Technical Assistance Program (DPETAP), which it has operated since 1998. The program provides CBRNE detection equipment, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Mass Casualty and Hospital Mass Casualty Patient Decontamination technical assistance and training to eligible responder agencies identified by the DHS.
This award augments a competitive award that GP received in 2005 to staff and operate the DPETAP for the DHS through 2010. In the eight-year history of the program, DPETAP has provided CBRNE equipment technical assistance and training to more than 81,000 of the nation’s responders. GP, through DPETAP, is the on-staff CBRNE equipment technical assistance provider for the DHS Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Preparedness Directorate.
