General Physics Corporation Receives Two Prestigious “Learning In Practice” Awards from Chief Learning Officer Magazine

Elkridge, MD. October 7, 2010 – Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), the operating subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), today announced that it has been honored with a Gold Award for Excellence in Customer Service and a Silver Award for Excellence in Outsourcing at the Learning In Practice Awards sponsored by Chief Learning Officer  magazine.

These prestigious awards were presented as part of the Chief Learning Officer Symposium held at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel in California on September 28, 2010. Nearly 300 entrants were reviewed by a panel of judges, who selected the winners based on their proven ability to design and implement innovative and effective learning solutions.

PerformTech, acquired by GP in 2009, won the Excellence in Customer Service award for its work with the U.S. Census Bureau.  To support the 2010 Census, PerformTech developed web-based training (WBT) and a series of How To Guides to help Local Census Office clerks track the progress of work, and monitor and control the workload for these operations. As a result, over 30,000 Census clerks employed the training developed by PerformTech.

GP also won the Excellence in Outsourcing award for work performed for a Fortune 500 global IT company. The organization outsourced its global course development needs to GP to provide development in all modalities, including instructor-led training, virtual classroom, e-learning, and mobile learning for the entire range of courseware from professional development  to highly-technical product training. As a result, GP manages all third-party content development vendors and subject matter experts, providing project management and quality management services which ensures course development consistency for this customer.

Doug Sharp, President for GP, stated, “It is our honor to receive these awards from CLO magazine on behalf of our customers and employees who worked together to earn them. As GP continues to grow and expand its capabilities, these awards affirm that our commitment to customer satisfaction and quality are not diminished.”
