December 15, 2010. –Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), the operating subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), announced today that its Energy Services group achieved approved provider status from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Education Program.
NERC requires Electric Transmission System Operators to maintain and expand their professional knowledge to stay current with new developments and technologies. This requirement is fulfilled through participation in the NERC Continuing Education Program. Certified System Operators must earn specified numbers of Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) on a periodic basis to retain Operator certification.
Recognition as an approved provider certifies that GP adheres to NERC Continuing Education Program Criteria. This provides GP the ability to deliver customized learning without the need to submit separate applications before the training is delivered. CEHs are awarded to participants following NERC approval of individual learning activities.
