Citibank: An onboarding case study
Citi is a leading global bank with approximately 200 million customer accounts. With approximately 241,000 staff members in 160 countries and jurisdictions worldwide, Citi required a corporate onboarding solution that would help reinforce its philosophy of a dynamic global workplace.
Using the global focus drive as a starting point, GP Strategies in partnership with Citi helped develop a new centralized onboarding program called Explore the World of Citi. This learning solution consisted of a 45-minute, web-based training session; a guidebook; a reflection journal; a “compass” resource guide; and a certificate of completion. The course was translated into 10 additional languages and deployed worldwide.
Explore the World of Citi has been seen by some 36,000 new hires (and completed by 34,000) since its global rollout in June 2014. Of the respondents to the post-course evaluation, 98% said that they would recommend Explore the World of Citi to another person. In addition, the program won Citibank and GP Strategies a Bronze Brandon Hall Excellence Award for Best New Hire Onboarding Program.
