General Physics’ Homeland Security, Defense & Emergency Management Group Becomes Authorized Provider of IACET CEUs

Elkridge, MD. June 24, 2010 –Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), the operating subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), announced today that its Homeland Security, Defense & Emergency Management (HSEM) group has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)

IACET accredits learning providers who meet or exceed stringent IACET continuing education standards.  As a result, students will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and further their professional development by earning continuing education units (CEUs) through selected GP instructor-led courses. The primary focus of the HSEM group is to provide Incident and Crisis Management, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) detection and protection equipment courses to the nation’s first responders and first receivers.

In order to achieve Authorized Provider status, the HSEM group completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. The HSEM group, located on the Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas, joins GP’s Chemical Demilitarization Training Facility (CDTF) and the Energy Services Group as IACET Authorized Providers.

Mr. Craig Seger, Senior Vice President for GP, stated, “GP is proud of our education programs which train first responders on important safety, preparedness and public health skills so that our customers stay on the knowledge cutting edge. This accreditation provides first responders with CEUs to support their education requirements.”
