ELKRIDGE, Md., May 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Global performance improvement solutions provider GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), earned runner-up for the second annual IRON SharePoint contest during the SharePoint Summit 2012 in Toronto, Canada.
The IRON SharePoint challenge, modeled after the hit television series Iron Chef, consisted of four teams with five members each, battling it out through an intense, two-day development effort to create the best Conference Management System based on the SharePoint 2010 platform. The competition judges provided a business requirements document to evaluate the solutions.
The teams were asked to build a five-course solution—in true Iron Chef form. The five courses were as follows:
- Standing Up SharePoint
- Conference Management System Landing Area
- Conference Landing Area
- Attendee Signup Area
- Decommissioning Area
The solutions were evaluated based on: Reusability, Best Practices, Extensibility/Configurability, and Governance.
Team “We Are GP” exceeded the expectations of the judges and was selected as the runner-up in the overall competition. Bill Finegan, Vice President of Enterprise Technology Solutions for GP Strategies, stated, “We were excited to be selected to participate as well as ecstatic with the performance of our team. With our customers’ continued expansion of their SharePoint usage, to be selected as a participant and to perform so well is a great testament to the skills of our team, and we hope to be chosen to compete again in the future.”
