ELKRIDGE, Md., June 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), a subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), has teamed with Parsons, a firm that was selected by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) as one of four integrating contractors for its Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Program. This 5-year (plus 1-year extension) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a ceiling of $950 million.
Established in 1991, the CTR Program is a congressionally mandated and funded program that seeks to reduce world arsenals of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). As an example, one of the program’s objectives is to reduce the threat to global security by eliminating stockpiled chemical weapons in Russia.
