General Physics Corporation Receives Two Prestigious “Learning In Practice” Awards from Chief Learning Officer Magazine

Elkridge, MD. October 6, 2009 – Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), the operating subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), today announced that it has been honored with a Gold Award for Excellence in Social Networks and a Bronze Award for Excellence in Customer Service at the Learning In Practice Awards sponsored by Chief Learning Officer  magazine.

These prestigious awards were presented as part of the Chief Learning Officer Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nearly 300 entrants were reviewed by a panel of judges, who selected the winners based on their proven ability to design and implement innovative and effective learning solutions.

GP won the Excellence in Social Networks award for its work with a Fortune 500 global IT company that faced marketing, training and communication challenges and needed a solution to engage retail sales professionals and channel audiences. The company hired GP to design, configure and host a user-authored sales support community forum to reach over one million users. Using a blended approach, GP helped the organization successfully engage a community of sales and support representatives. GP’s customer is now perceived as a valued partner that responds to and serves their training and professional development needs in a range of interlinking ways.

GP also won the Excellence in Customer Service award for work performed for a leading multi-industry Fortune 500 company. The organization outsourced its Learning Management System (LMS) help desk, training administration and event management requirements to GP. The company measures GP’s performance in three critical service areas: training administration, help desk and technical support.
